TI NoteFolio Creator is a computer program that lets you type text files on your PC and send them to your graphing calculator. This tool works with older calculator models like the TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus, and TI-89. 1. Get the Software Ready
Before you can transfer notes, your computer needs two key programs:
TI Connect: This software lets your computer talk to your calculator. You will want TI Connect 1.6.1 for the best compatibility.
TI NoteFolio Creator: This is the basic text editor where you actually type your notes. You can grab TI NoteFolio Creator for Windows directly from Texas Instruments.
Note: If NoteFolio will not install, ensure your PC has Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed first. 2. Type and Send via NoteFolio Creator
Once everything is installed, the fastest way to transfer text is directly through the software:
Connect: Plug your calculator into your PC using a silver or mini-USB link cable. Turn the calculator on.
Type: Open TI NoteFolio Creator on your PC and type up your study notes.
Send: Click on the Actions menu at the top, then choose Send to Device. Select your calculator when it pops up, and your notes will transfer over instantly. 3. Alternative Method: Use Microsoft Word
If you prefer writing in Word, you can transfer notes directly from there as well: Open Microsoft Word and type your text. Look at the top menu and click on TI Tools. Select TI NoteFolio Creator, then click Send to Device. 4. How to Read Your Notes on the Calculator
To see your notes, your calculator must have the NoteFolio App installed on it. Press the APPS button on your calculator. Scroll down and select NoteFolio.
Choose the file name you sent from your PC to open and view your text.
If you run into any “Cannot send to device” errors, try closing the programs, opening your PC’s Control Panel, and clicking Repair on the NoteFolio Creator installer.
